When I sing, some people look cross-eyed at me, but God knows my heart-I mean, well, even if I sound bad. Some of God’s people are so glum they make a long-faced mule look happy! How do you think our Father in Heaven feels when He hears us moaning and groaning instead of rejoicing in our salvation and busy doing His work with joy and gladness. Nothing is more ridiculous than a gloomy-Gus Christian half-heartedly thanking God. You know, like football fans do when their team makes a touchdown! God is so good to us, we need to let Him know that we realize that “every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights” (James 1:17). Not just a noise, the politicians do that for us, but a joyful noise. We are so thankful that he had a New Song devotional already prepared using PSALM ONE HUNDRED, with these observations on, “THE WAYS TO THANK GOD”. When Pastor turned 90 years old he would have a sermon, referencing a book in Psalms that corresponded with his age. Pastor Salem would have turned 100 years old on June 26.
